The China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES) closed on Sunday, July 13 in Qingdao, China, sported the largest exhibit space in show history, featuring more than 500 exhibiting companies and drawing 61,000 attendees. The fifth annual show had attendance that was slightly lower than the 63,000 attending during 2007. Industry professionals experienced the latest products across the largest show floor in SINOCES history, comprised of 36,000 square meters, up from 35,000 square meters in 2007, and featuring 502 global exhibitors, an increase from 430 companies in 2007. Major industry buyers and retailers were in attendance, including Wal-Mart, Best Buy and J&R. SINOCES 2008 is a gateway to the Chinese market, promotes consumer electronics and communication between China and over 30 countries. It is also the only consumer electronics show in China certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce.Several companies launched new product lines at SINOCES including Wherever TV's new receiver, which delivers international TV channels to televisions via a broadband internet connection, and Kingston Technology's new first-ever flash memory card with pre-stored songs and music. Additionally, the SINOCES show floor featured the 2008 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards showcase, highlighting the 2008 honorees awarded for their cutting-edge product designs. The consumer electronics industry- from the 3 C integration into the 4 C integration At present, computers, communications, consumer electronics products are in the direction of 3C integration from their technical point. The border of the consumer electronics industry has increasingly blurred. The consumer electronic products are integrating in digitization, networking, and intellectualized application, which becomes the mainstream direction of the present electrical appliances. At the same time, the global consumer electronics industry has started to transfer from the 3 C integration into the 4 C integration, changes from functional integration to the content integration. Content providers integrate personalized, diversified content services according to consumer's demand to meet the needs of them.

The energy conservation and environmental protection becomes the trend of development CEA and Vogel Burda Media's (VBM) CHIP magazine, produced a "Green Zone" on the show floor, highlighting the latest environmentally friendly technology products emerging in the Chinese marketplace. Exhibitors and products on display in the Green Zone included Epson's energy-saving printer and projectors; Gigabyte, which enabled attendees to experience its "green" PC peripheries and Hanvon's environmentally-friendly and energy efficient Graphic Tablet. CEA and CHIP also sponsored and produced the "Future of Green Technology" conference program, focused on technology's advancement into the green space through design, sustainable manufacturing and corporate responsibility initiatives.

Design innovation promote the industrial development 2008 SINOCES organized a special forum “the design innovation” for the first time. At present, the technology of the consumer electronics market tends to be homogenization. Industrial design is becoming an important standard for consumers. Meanwhile, industrial design innovation has become an important way for the consumer electronics enterprises to obtain the differentiation competitive advantage. SINOCES integrated the manufacturing with the design industry show for the first time, intended to popularize the advanced international design and the product to the Chinese market.

The outlook By 2009 China will account for nearly 15 percent of global CE revenue, trailing North America with 22 percent and Western Europe with a 16 percent share. CEA announced that, in a study it did with GfK Group of Germany, worldwide revenue for consumer electronics will hit $700 billion by 2009, a $42 billion gain over last year with emerging countries like China, Brazil, Russia and India leading the way.
